Dark, but Warm and Happy

Due to a bizarre 10 inches of wet snow we got this weekend we've been without power since Saturday night (I'm back to work, hence my internet access). We're all doing well and keeping warm and happy. Generator and 45 degree sunny days are keeping the house warm, the grill is keeping us in burnt meat and the area grocery stores are back to life so there's no shortage of peanut butter sandwiches. We don't yet know when power will be back. We've heard everything from this afternoon to Thursday.

Molly has been having a good time building snowmen and sledding at the neighbors, though she was a bit disappointed that trick-or-treating was postponed (moved to this Friday for safety reasons). Kate is keeping occupied by army crawling all over the house. She's discovered nooks and crannies and is developing a keen sense for every piece of paper, button, marker, or other choking hazard that Molly forgets and leaves behind. Plus I swear (and Julie will validate) that when Julie carried her into our room yesterday she said "Hi dada".

Lastly, Julie and Molly are off to pre-school today for parent/teacher conferences (for preschool? What can they say - congrats your kid doesn't eat the crayons and paste) and I'm back to work. So it seems the routine is on, even if the lights are off.

P.S. I've already gotten one salacious phone call with suggestions for when the power is out from a party that shall remain nameless.
